VOC Treatment & Recovery for the chemicals industry
A cleaner path to recovery
Regulations for controlling hazardous air pollutants have become increasingly stringent, but Praxair can help you find ways to lower emissions and heighten your earning power at the same time. Featuring cryo-condensation technology, our Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Recovery System is a highly efficient, flexible alternative to destructive and adsorptive technologies. Whether your terminal’s current VOC treatment system is slowing production because of emissions limits or has increasingly high operating costs, Praxair has a portfolio of options to help you save money and ensure compliance. And because we understand that what works for one chemical manufacturing company may not suit another, we’ll work with you to tailor our VOC treatment and recovery system to meet your needs.
Using liquid nitrogen as the refrigerant, the cryo-condensation process cools the emissions in a process stream to very low temperatures in proprietary and patented heat exchangers, characterized for their high fractionating capacity of vapors and gases. The emissions are separated by decreased vapor pressure, condensing the VOCs and returning valuable products back into your operation. The refrigeration is supplied through indirect heat exchange with liquid nitrogen. The warmed nitrogen is then utilized for purging and blanketing operations.
