Dr. Samir J. Serhan was appointed president of Global HyCO for Praxair, Inc. in 2014. He is responsible for developing and implementing Praxair’s global hydrogen and carbon monoxide strategy, managing Praxair’s engineering and project management organization, and directing the U.S. HyCO business including all sales, operations and pipeline management activities.
Prior to joining Praxair, Samir held various positions throughout a 14-year career with the Linde Group. He was the CEO of Linde Engineering North America and most recently served as Managing Director, Linde Engineering located at the company’s head office in Germany. Samir’s global responsibilities included: Quality Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Management (QHSE), market development, engineering, construction, project execution, the petrochemical product line and the hydrogen and synthesis product line.
Samir began his career at the Parsons Corporation, a leading U.S. engineering and project management company, where he held a number of leadership positions in the areas of business development, project engineering and project management. He also served as an adjunct professor for 16 years at Temple University and Penn State University.
Samir holds a doctorate in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech and has published over 40 technical papers for conferences and technical journals. He is a certified professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
