Veerle Slenders was named vice president of Global Safety, Health and Environment for Praxair, Inc. in 2016. In this role, she focuses on all aspects of health, environmental and FDA compliance, personal and process safety, while working closely with the Praxair business communities to achieve sustainable best in class results.
Slenders joined Praxair in 1995 as a customer service representative. She held a variety of positions before being named general manager of process gases, Europe, in 2003. In 2007, she was named business director of electronics process gases for Europe and North America, and in 2009, she was named business director for Praxair Electronics in Europe. In 2011, Slenders was named managing director for Benelux and France. In 2014, she was named vice president of Praxair Surface Technologies (PST) Europe and added responsibility for PST Singapore and India in 2015.
Slenders has a master´s degree in chemical engineering from Technical University in Hasselt and a postgraduate degree in business administration from Catholic University in Leuven (Belgium).
