Helium: Safety First
Helium is nontoxic and safe to use provided its properties are understood, and it is stored and handled properly.

Keep in mind that:
» Helium is colorless, odorless and tasteless at normal temperature and pressure
» Helium can act as a simple asphyxiant by displacing or liquefying air
» Exposure to liquid helium may cause severe frostbite to skin and eyes

When handling and storing helium:
» Adequate ventilation should be provided
» Cylinders should be protected against damage
» Proper safety equipment and apparel should be used
